Editorial standards
Every educational resource on TechUtilityTools is published under the TechUtilityTools Editorial Team. We use a consistent editorial framework rather than per-author bylines because the standards — not any individual — are what guarantee quality.
Editorial mission
Help technical and non-technical users understand internet performance, network diagnostics, and connectivity — accurately, transparently, and without dark patterns.
How content is created
- Topics are selected from real user questions, search demand, and gaps in publicly available material.
- Every resource is researched against primary sources (RFCs, vendor documentation, public measurement studies) before drafting.
- Drafts are reviewed for accuracy, clarity, and currency before publishing.
- We avoid speculation and label uncertainty when it exists.
Fact-checking
Technical claims (bandwidth requirements, protocol behavior, RFC details) are verified against primary documentation. Vendor-specific claims are tested where reasonable. Numeric thresholds (e.g. "video calls need under 150 ms latency") are sourced from public measurement studies and platform documentation, not invented.
Update policy
Every resource carries a published date and last-updated date in its byline. Material changes (protocol updates, new standards, deprecations) trigger a re-review. We do not silently change articles — substantive corrections are noted in-line.
Attribution & bylines
Educational content is published under TechUtilityTools Editorial Team. This is the consistent editorial entity responsible for content quality. Individual researcher contributions are tracked internally but not exposed as bylines, because the standards — not a specific author — are what the reader should trust.
Transparency about monetization
Affiliate links and sponsored placements are disclosed and never influence editorial recommendations. See our affiliate disclosure and advertising disclosure.
Corrections
If you find a factual error, contact us via the contact page. Corrections to material claims are made within five business days and noted on the page.
