What do these numbers mean?

What does ping actually measure?

The round-trip time for a small request to reach a server and come back. Browsers can't send raw ICMP, so we use HTTPS requests — the result correlates closely with traditional ping.

What's a good ping?

Under 30ms is excellent for competitive gaming and live calls. 30–60ms is great for everything. 60–100ms is fine for most uses. Above 100ms feels noticeable in real-time apps.

Why does jitter matter more than ping?

Calls and games stay smooth when jitter is below ~10ms — even at 100ms ping. High jitter causes audio glitches, frame stutters, and inconsistent responsiveness.

What does packet loss affect?

Even 1–2% loss causes audio dropouts in VoIP, blurred video frames, and rubber-banding in online games. Sustained loss usually points to Wi-Fi interference, ISP congestion, or a bad route.

How do I improve unstable latency?

Switch to wired Ethernet, move closer to your router, change the Wi-Fi channel, or test from a different DNS resolver. If the issue persists across hosts, contact your ISP.

Is anything stored?

Samples live only in this tab. Signed-in users can save snapshots when they pause a test — Pro accounts get unlimited history and continuous monitoring.
